French explores Verrazano and Cartier was in search of the Northwest Passage when they came across mouth St. Lawrence River and made it Quebec.


Describe French founding of New Orleans:
Robert de la sale was in search of the Northwest Passage, instead he found New Orleans.

Describe Dutch Exploration in North America:
In 1614 the Dutch had settled in new Netherlands. They built New Amsterdam at the tip of Manhattan Island to protect a major seaport.


Describe the discovery of Pennsylvania:
King Charles gave Pennsylvania to Quaker William Penn. Pennsylvania soon grew into a colony because of its fertile land, navigable rivers, and temperate climate.
