Wars of Empire Review

Directions: Under each complete the phrase, answer the question, fill in the blank, or define the definition.

Why did the British and French fight over the colonies?
They fought over the territory.


When go to war over the colonies, what group do the French and the British try to get on their side and Why?
They both wanted to keep the Indians on their side because they knew if the power shifted they would be treated harsh.

Describe the events in the Ohio River Valley that led to the outbreak of war?
The French built Fort Duquesne to keep the British out; this enraged the Britain’s and started a war.

How do British turn the tide of war?
They get the Indians on their side.

Describe Pontiacs Rebellion:
Indians rebelled against the British to bring back French.

Describe the aftermath of the French Indian War:
After the war the British wanted more control over the colonist so they had them pay for war debt.
